Calgar Kanzik

ÇalGar Kanzık (b.1978) is a self-thought documentary photographer based in Istanbul (Turkey). His photographic projects include intimate and satirical aspects of nightlife, contests and bold storytelling. His first solo exhibition, ‘’Tahiti Wayfarer’’, was held in GFI gallery in 2012.

He exibhited „A sneak peak at the life of drag queens, belly dancers and zennes in Istanbul“, AT the group show at Gallery Photobastei (Electronic Gender Bending Music Festival 2015).

The series focus on the physical and psychological transformation they go through before taking the stage with their show persona. Their stories come to life with coincidences and synchronicity.
